Project 1 : Miniature of a domestic spaceUniversity final year project 01/02/2024
This project was a self-directed brief, where I tasked myself with constructing a miniature of a domestic space from memory. I chose to recreate my living room from my childhood home, a place where I spent nearly a decade of my life. This familiar setting provided an opportunity to explore what aspects of the space I remembered vividly and which ones I might overlook. The essence of this project lies in showcasing how the same space can be transformed into something entirely different through changes in lighting and furniture arrangements. Inspired by my previous research and passion for miniatures in film, this project is an extension of my ongoing exploration into the world of three-dimensional modeling.
Project 2 Poster collaboration University final year project01/03/2024
This collaborative project began with two specifications: 'extra large' and 'photography.' What emerged was a captivating poster series where our goal was to seamlessly blend various worlds and spaces into a cohesive collage. Our aim was to showcase diversity by incorporating different locations that, despite their differences, are united under one visual narrative. The focal point of the series is Arnolfini, a space familiar to both of us from our university experiences. From there, we expanded the narrative to encompass the city of Bristol, incorporating iconic landmarks such as the cathedral and Bristol Beacon. Through this project, we sought to celebrate the interconnectedness of our surroundings and highlight the beauty of unity within diversity.
Project 3: Miniature FurnitureUniversity final year project01/04/2024
This brief originated from a miniature set build project, where my task was to craft the furniture to breathe life into the set. Achieving realism required meticulous attention to detail and scale. Working solely from memory, I embarked on estimating measurements, overall design, and even fabric choices. This endeavor challenged me to rely on my perception and memory to recreate the essence of the furniture, showcasing my ability to capture intricate details and bring them to life in miniature form.
Project 4University final year project01/11/2023
This is my first self-printed hardcover perfect-bound book, which was a brief given to us as part of the ISTD award. The brief emphasizes the significant role of lines in graphic communication, from typography to cartography, highlighting their diverse functions and symbolic meanings. I chose to focus my work on the failure of the HS2 trainline scheme, visually interpreting it by showcasing the timeline of events that led to its failure, using a line to symbolize.
